Low-rise jeans, maxi skirts, baguette bags, and Ugg boots have all been revitalised by Generation Z. This is because companies target influencers and celebrities, and fashion cycles are linked to external forces. Because of youthful customers’ fascination with Y2K fashion, Ugg boots are making a comeback. Deckers, Ugg’s parent company, had a 21% increase in new consumers during the most recent quarter, notably among 18- to 34-year-olds, thanks to the launching of its $150 small platform boots. Crocs were probably the most polarising shoe on the market, but because of unusual collaborations with businesses like Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, they now have more fans than detractors. Dresses over jeans were once a red carpet standard for Y2K celebs, and the look has made an appearance in certain TikTok fashion communities. Low-rise, baggy trousers have become the uniform of the younger generation, with searches for baggy trousers increasing by 172% so far in 2023. The fourth most popular style is baggy jeans, while high-waisted, more form-fitting mom jeans have dropped out of the top 10.
