Chinese luxury brands to promote environmentally friendly fashion

The trend of sustainable clothing is also starting to catch on in China, led by youthful, urban, and increasingly eco-aware shoppers. In contrast to fast fashion, sustainable fashion places a focus on long-lasting, low-emission clothes. Sustainable fashion has the potential to revolutionise China’s fashion and clothing businesses as the nation works to drastically decrease its greenhouse gas emissions, but it also requires long-term expenditures to encourage a cultural shift among customers. Greater sustainability is urgently required in the fashion and clothing sectors in China. Currently, neither the secondhand market nor material reusing is used to recycle the majority of clothing in China after usage. China discards over 26 million tonnes of clothing annually, with less than 1% being recycled or repurposed.
