Allbirds introduces the first sneaker made entirely of plastic-free Mirum leather

Allbirds has released its first sneaker made of 100% plastic-free and vegan-approved leather. It is called Plant Pacer and is made of Mirum, which contains natural materials like rubber, plant oils, and agricultural by-products such as rice hulls and citrus peels. This material was produced in association with Natural Fiber Welding (NFW) and has a footprint 88% lower than bovine leather and 75% lower than synthetic “pleather” alternatives. The move is set to support customers in their environment-conscious lifestyles and drive the footwear industry to a sustainable future.
