Major fashion brands have been voyaging into the metaverse since it gained traction. Three of the biggest names include Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Balenciaga. Gucci became the first fashion giant to accept cryptocurrency for goods. Additionally, it teamed up with Roblox to virtually display its handbags, hats, and sunglasses in the form of avatars. The Gucci Garden allowed fans to get their hands on a selection of rare and collectible virtual Gucci creations. Louis Vuitton was also quick to join the party by launching a mobile game, “Louis the Game,” featuring 30 NFTs and following the journey of house mascot Vivienne. It housed a $69.3 million art collection. Balenciaga, on the other hand, was the first brand to enter the metaverse. It collaborated with the virtual reality game Fortnite and gave four unique items to players as avatar accessories. It also released an avatar, Doggo, dressed head to toe in Balenciaga.
