Senate Bill 54 has instigated the fashion companies to make internal packaging material and garment bags etc more sustainable. Its focus lies on repurposing businesses for reuse in order to accelerate the circular economy. Many brands welcomed the bill. Everlane claims to have discarded 90% of its virgin and single-use plastic. Recycled plastic is used for its polybags and recycled fibres for its apparel. It intends to eliminate the remaining 10% using trim, elastane, and new innovations. Hailey Bieber’s Road has decided not to give samples in a bid to avoid common waste materials. Credo has given up all single-use plastics including sample packets and sheet masks. Now they feature travel-sized jars made from upcycled, plastic-free materials that are used for customers who want to sample products. Many other companies have taken similar actions.
