Copenhagen Fashion Week first introduced its sustainability action plan in 2020, which requires all brands participating in the event to adhere to 18 minimum requirements across six critical areas: strategic direction, design, material selection, working conditions, consumer involvement, and show production.The plan has undergone several pilot tests over the past two years and has finally been fully implemented this autumn/winter 2023 season, marking a significant milestone in the fashion industry’s efforts towards sustainability. The 18 minimum requirements set by Copenhagen Fashion Week aim to promote eco-friendly practices and better working conditions in the fashion industry, and serve as a blueprint for other fashion events and brands to follow.
