In order to dress for the screening of “Matilda the Musical” at the Curzon Mayfair theatre in London yesterday night, Emma Thompson adopted a Gen Z aesthetic. The artist portrays Miss Trunchbull in the movie, which will make its American Netflix debut on Christmas Day. Thompson sported an oversized dark-grey denim jacket for the occasion, which had silver buttons and some moderate shredding on the hem.

She completed the ensemble with white wide-leg jeans, which she placed over an oversized black and white shirt. In terms of footwear, Thompson wore metallic Stella McCartney sneakers with holographic leather uppers. The task was to design the designer’s emblem on the back, a lace-up clasp, and thick soles.
