Brandwatch, a British social media suite company held by Cision, reported some of the latest and prevailing trends in the fashion industry for the rest of 2022. These trends are listed below:
- Brands noticed that in 2021, consumers wanted to return to simple fashion looks like retro and classic accessories and clothing. The search mentions the Nostalgia term went up from 600K to almost 1M from 2019 to 2021.
- Fashion brands noticed that consumers refer aesthetics to online trends based on hobbies, fashion, music, and other attractions in a single vision.
- Consumers also referred to different cores to describe their moods and interests and the most searched category was cottagecore. Consumers are highly likely to talk about escapism, including running away to the countryside, living in the future, or having a mushroom-shaped home.
- Consumers want an amalgamation of affordable and sustainable fashion choices. The discussion on social media was about Luxury fashion (37%), Fast fashion (31%) and Haute couture (28%).
- A large chunk of consumers continues to work from home casual wear were preferred more.
