The trend of “Shopping to Sell” luxury brands is increasing among Gen Z

According to The RealReal Inc.’s 2022 Luxury Resale Report, Gen Z has opted for a “shopping to sell” trend as inflation hikes the prices. Individuals aged 25 or older are immersed in buying luxury products and selling them at a high price. RealReal, the online consignment platform, has seen a 50% increase in this Gen Z trend during inflation, says senior director of women’s merchandising, Sasha Skoda. The report says that Prada, Reformation, and Balenciaga are the top clothing brands that were sold. As for jewellery, Cartier is atop the list.
