While Gen Z is the biggest proponent of propagating sustainability, ironically, it also has a major part to play in promoting fast fashion, shows ThredUp’s report. According to this report, 1 out of every 3 Gen Z members admits to being addicted to fast fashion due to the aggressive marketing that surrounds them. To help Gen Z with this, ThredUp has paired with the Stranger Things actor Priah Ferguson to launch a counselling hotline, the Fast Fashion Confessional Hotline, to help individuals stay away from fast fashion. The purpose of this initiative is to promote sustainable shopping habits among Gen Z.
