For nearly two decades, Bowen Tsui’s family business in China has been producing garments for foreign clients to sell under their own labels.
However, to ensure the company’s survival, they have now taken a new approach to design, brand and distribute clothing under their own name, Goodways Group. The shift towards self-branding and distribution is driven by the changing economy in China, where increased competition and improved product quality have given manufacturers access to a wider range of customers both domestically and internationally. Bowen Tsui and many others in the industry are now focusing on launching their own brands, ranging from socks to pet toys to camping gear.
