Gap Inc., a fashion retailer and brand, has won commendation from the US government for its efforts to safeguard garment workers in its supply chain during the COVID-19 outbreak.

It received a 2022 Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) for Responsible Business Operations from the US Department of State for looking out for others besides its immediate workers. According to reports, Gap negotiated the payment of salaries due by its suppliers to its workers in order to provide stability for those who would be most negatively impacted by the pandemic’s economic effects.
